Letters of Recommendation and Transcripts
Letters of Recommendation
A recommendation is an opportunity for your mentors to tell colleges about you. To request a Letter of Recommendation you will select what type of recommender you're sending the request to (Teacher, High School Counselor, CBO Counselor/Advisor, Coach or Other) and then fill in their name and email address.
Your recommender will receive an email with a link that they can use to upload their document on your behalf. It's helpful to note that you will not be able to see a copy of the letter on your application.
Please make sure that you check in with your recommenders to make sure that they received the email and upload the letter in a timely manner.
Your official transcripts can be submitted one of two ways:
1) Your counselor can submit them through the Cappex/Greenlight Application after you send them a request. You'll be asked for their email address after selecting this option, and they will receive an email asking them to upload your transcript.
2) You can speak with your counselor about sending the transcript to colleges outside of the application. If you choose this option, Cappex/Greenlight is not responsible for sending your official transcripts to the college.
No matter which option you choose, be sure to follow up with your counselor to make sure that your transcripts have been uploaded or mailed to the schools that you have applied to.
